How Our Print-on-Demand T-Shirts Are Made

Every Tee Varo shirt is made to order. Nothing is pre-printed and boxed in a warehouse waiting for a buyer — when your order comes in, that exact design is printed onto a fresh blank garment and shipped to you. It is a slower model than pulling stock off a shelf, but it means the shirt you open was made for your order, not folded in a box for a year.

The printing itself is direct-to-garment (DTG): the artwork is printed straight into the fabric with water-based inks, the way an inkjet lays ink onto paper. Because the ink soaks into the cotton instead of sitting on top as a thick plastic layer, the print stays soft to the touch and flexes with the shirt rather than cracking the first time you stretch it.

Most of our designs are drawn with a slightly faded, vintage look on purpose. That aesthetic choice pairs well with DTG: a lightly distressed print reads as intentional from day one and stays consistent wash after wash, closer to a band tee you have owned for years than a glossy novelty graphic.
